I have been meaning to post pictures for a really long time of our apartment. Without internet in our apartment it has been very difficult to post anything on the blog, let alone pictures. We have been frequenting an internet cafe about 100 yards from our apartment but it costs so much money: 2 Euros an hour! I was really frustrated by this, until I saw that the majority of the other internet cafes around Siena charge on average 2 Euros for 30 minutes and 4 Euros and hour! $6 dollars an hour to use the internet is outrageous!
Anyway, on to our apartment.......
A view from the entrance......... To the right is the hall to our bedroom and to the left the stairs to the laundry room and down to our own cave........
A close up view....Our kitchen is all blue Ikea......
A view of the entry way......
Our bedroom....Ollie's head is just visible on the bed......
The steps leading down to the bottini......
The gate to the bottini....
Our own bottini! The picture is very dark and I will have to take another. Neither one of us has ventured very far beyond the gate. The path seems to go uphill a little bit but it is too dark to see without a flashlight. I was reading the bottini are a 25km tunnel system underneath the city of Siena and were used to bring water into the city beginning in the 12th century.
