Piazza del Duomo.

We crossed Ponte Pietro and it was time to head up to Castel San Pietro. There were quite a few steps....

A door along the way...

We are still climbing...

And we have arrived at Castel San Pietro. I actually did not get a picture of the castle (it was quite foggy). Castel S. Pietro was built by the Austrians on the site of an earlier castle. Behind the current castle is a park amidst some of the ruins of the original castle. It is small, but picturesque and dogs are allowed!

Unfortunately it was time to go back home to Siena. We had such a great time and are definitely looking forward to going back to Verona. Of course, we still had to endure a journey home of three trains and almost 8 hours (it only took us 5 hours to get to Verona). But at least we had 225 pictures from our weekend to look at!
