Wow! This was emotional for me! Since I used to live in the historic center of Siena just a couple of blocks from the piazza...
The quarter or "Contrada" that I lived in was "La Contrada del Leocorno" (unicorn) :)
And it's amazing how much emotion (and funds!) go into Siena's Palio! The celebrations for the contrada that win last all year!

Thanks for the comment. We don't have an apartment yet, so we don't know what contrada we are going to live in. We can't wait though!! 38 days!
