I found three short interesting videos on Siena: one is an overview of the city which will soon be our home; another of Il Campo; and the other is about one of the culinary specialties of Siena, Panforte. Kind of sounds like fruitcake. I guess we will find out soon! Read more about Panforte on our other blog, Ashley and Reed Eat Italy, here.
Make sure to check out Reed's professional culinary web site "Chef Reed Anderson."

Very pretty video, it captures Siena as many live it...
Here is the powerful voice of handsome Alessandro Safina who is also from SIENA :)

I was told that Alessandro's family still has an important bakery in the heart of Siena, and it was one of my favorite shops to go in the evening when the tourists left! but for the life of me, I cannot think of the name right now...
If you think of the name, let us know!
hey there! what made you decide to move to siena versus other places in italy?
We wanted Tuscany and did not want to move to Florence. We are going on a student visa and liked the Universita per Stranieri. Plus, I love Siena and the location is great!
I didn't realize that with the student visa you can study for 20 hours a week? wow. ok so they can legally pay me and I can legally work in italy?
Yes, a student visa gets you a permit to stay to study. With that permesso you can legally work 20 hours a week. If an employer wishes to hire you for more, you can change your permit to stay to study into a permit to stay to work without having to come back to the U.S.
